SEE Sessions

Last February I had the opportunity to attend SEE Sessions in Nashville, with Jessica Sloane and Jessica Lorren. I had an amazing time and was happy to get to stay in the cutest AIRBNB with Erin McGinn, Lindsey Zamora, Meagan Hudak, Lisa Molett and Anniee Adams. We had the best time staying up telling ridiculously funny stories and getting to know each other! I first was instantly intrigued by SEE Sessions because it was the first of it's kind; a true hands-on styling workshop that offered education on business and branding. I truly admired Jessica Sloane's work and aesthetic and knew her brand was one I would be eager to learn from. I am so happy I took the plunge!
I was surprised at how much I enjoyed learning from the photographer's point-of-view. Jessica Lorren was a great teacher and made it really easy for the stylist to understand where her head is while working an event or editorial. I could have watched both Jessica and Jessica work for days, and seeing how they interact was well worth my treck from South Alabama.  Working with other vendors is one of my favorite aspects of weddings, so refining that interaction is really important to me. I feel lucky to have learned from both of them and am constantly reminded to keep redefining what it is my company and brand stand for. If you are considering going to the next SEE Sessions, I would definitely do it! It was my favorite workshop experience yet.
Below are a few of my favorite shots from SEE Sessions feature on Wedding Sparrow. Shot by Jessica Lorren and styled by Jessica Sloane. {See all vendors in WS post}

Fall Family Session with Kaylie Poplin Photography

Better late than never, right? A few months ago, I found Kaylie on Instagram (of course) and instantly loved her light, beachy and authentic feed. Then, jumping off the screen was her bio. "Emerald Coast.."? No way! Not only do I know and love that area, but it's only about 2 hours away. I emailed her that night to see if she wanted to grab coffee! We instantly connected, I mean, she was able to finish my sentences! And after what seemed like a long year business-wise, she totally "just got it", and was a breath of fresh air.
I absolutely ADORE Kaylie, her work and her heart. We have so much fun on our little lunch dates (we meet in the middle, in Pensacola) and talk about all things under the sun. Kaylie so graciously came to Fairhope last Fall to take some beautiful photos of me, Andrew and Otto. I couldn't be happier with them. I never realized we needed photos of Otto (seeing as he runs this house, never going unnoticed), but he is our favorite little guy in the whole wide world and our house now feels complete with him up on the walls! "As it should…", Otto would say. :)
You can see all of our session in my portfolio.

These make me so happy! I will never tire of them. We had so much fun during it too. Otto was not the most focused model, but other than that we actually all really enjoyed ourselves! Kaylie made us feel so comfortable, and although probably not on the top of Andrew's wish list, I think he is really happy we did this!
Since this shoot, Kaylie and I have been busy working on my branding photos, and planning for upcoming nuptials!  I will share more about both of those soon!
