Recent Design Work

Alright today's post is subpar. I only say that because I try not to clump a lot of different work or inspiration into one blog post. But lately I have had a lot of small projects that I have enjoyed creating and I want to share them with you!

Spring/Summer Wedding Invitation Proofs

I love this soft and fun invitation suite. The pops of coral and blush tones add a girly and modern touch to the otherwise formal and traditional pieces. You can see my beginning inspiration for this suite here.

Spring/Summer Wedding Invitation Proof

This invitation suite is so refreshing to work on. I love the traditional and timeless look of an all-calligraphy invitation. I am more than excited to see this one come to life and am only sharing because I know that the final product will be completely different than the photo above; it will be printed through letterpress. | photos to come late summer |

Spring Wedding Invitation Sample

I created this sample suite for Brittany Lott, wedding planner at Elle Affairs, to use as part of a styled shoot for All About Bham. I loved the florals (especially after the harsh winter) so much that I used it (again) as a sample set in my booth at The Grand Hotel's Bridal Show in Point Clear, Alabama.

Envelope Calligraphy

Eek! Fun order since I am a beginner with calligraphy. I loved helping Rachel and Megan add a pretty final touch to their wedding invitations. Side note… I am getting a much-needed manicure tomorrow.

Hope you like my latest work! XO

Learning Calligraphy - Part I

The journey of learning calligraphy is fun and frustrating! I am an "instant gratification" kind of person so the second I picked up my pen and nib, I wanted a specific look. Not realistic. I have so enjoyed practicing and hope to take many more calligraphy classes in 2014 to accompany my invitation designs.

I was commissioned by a friend, owner of Elle Affairs, to create some tags for her clients. I was happy to do it and know her well-enough that she can toss them if they are totally not up to par! While I was making a mess, I thought to myself how pretty my mess had become. Rosemary, linen, and silk ribbon have been apart of my branding pallet and I always have them on the table when I create! Love these pretty messes.
