The most memorable holiday in our house growing up was Easter for me. My mom LOVES Easter, and let it show year after year. She would cover the entire table with crinkle paper and candy, with our overflowing Easter baskets atop. Most of our few family traditions were centered around Easter, so it was definitely not just about the baskets. The wonder of Easter began at Ash Wednesday as we were prompted to give something up in favor of Lent and our Catholic faith. Meatless Fridays (usually pasta or pizza) seem like part of my childhood! Good Friday was our day for baking and then finally, the celebration on Easter morning was always well-anticipated as we eagerly ran to our baskets.
Sharing these memories with Thomas is so important to me! I hope he grows to love this season as much as I do. :) This year we will be in New York (just like many of my childhood Easters) so we have started celebrating early around here. I’ve also had to prep his basket in advance, planning to do a mini Easter at home this weekend and shipping a basked to NY for the real deal. I have a few fun posts to share as we prep!
First up: My favorite Toddler Easter Basket finds!
Let me start by saying, we all know they don’t need much to bring the excitement and joy. Some candy will always do the trick! I like to get a few things (similar to our Christmas planning): something to read, something to play with, something to eat, something to wear, etc. This is mostly gender neutral or come in more feminine colors as well!
The garden tools linked above are from Amazon, but I found the sweetest little set for Thomas (and his buddies) in the Target Dollar Section! And you know he already has his ABC Flashcards but they make the perfect basket addition so had to add them:). Next, I’ll be sharing two cute printable and some fun table decor we have packed up for Easter morning!
